Some reminders -

Minimum Requirements to coach:

1. US LAX membership and number to me (Thanks to all of you that have already completed this)

(https://secure.uslacrosse.org/default.cfm?fuse_action=NewMem)

2. NVYLL Code of Conduct and Safe Kids form must be completed on line - The electronic version of the coaches code of conduct and Safe Kids forms are on-line and available. Have your coaches go to the NVYLL web site http://www.nvyll.org/Registration/Default.asp?snid=50657509&org=nvyll.org and select ’Register Online’. Click the link for the registration program and follow the instructions. If they coached last year their email address should be in the system. So they should use it in the registration process.

US LACROSSE LVL 1 (required to be a head coach, desired for assistants) -

From the chairman of NVYLL

Commissioners;

Below is a reminder of the upcoming US Lacrosse Level 1 Clinic for both boys’ and girls’ coaches clinic.

NVYLL rule 1.0.8 requires all head coaches to be Level 1 certified and suggests that all coaches be Level 1 certified. Next year all coaches must be at least Level 1 certified.

The Executive Committee will be reviewing your list of coaches to make sure each head coach is certified. Failure for a head coach to be certified will lead to penalties greater than the cost of becoming certified (US Lacrosse membership and certification cost).

NVYLL will reimburse the cost not covered by the Potomac Chapter (excluding US Lacrosse membership) for every NVYLL coach attending this clinic.

Bob

US Lacrosse Level I Coaches Certification Clinic Sunday, February 10 at St. Stephens/Agnes School, Alexandria, Va., US Lacrosse is offering a Level I coaching education program clinic. This program is discounted by the Potomac Chapter. Cost is $35, normally $60, if you have taken the Level l on-line course, and $45, normally $70 if not. Registration for both the Level I on- line course and the clinic can be made on the US Lacrosse web site www.uslacrosse.org.

This clinic is one of the requirements for youth coach certification. Boy and Girl clinic’s will be offered on the same day. The Level I clinic emphasizes development of coaching skills such as player development for beginning and experienced lacrosse coaches and includes both classroom and hands-on sessions. It is recommended for new coaches at any level, youth coaches and high school JV level coaches. On site registration February 10 opens at 8:30 am with the program running from 9:30 to 4:30. Coffee in the morning and lunch will be provided along with a coaches goodie bag supplied by US Lacrosse. Participants must bring a stick and mouth guard plus goggles for the girls clinic participants.

To register for the clinic the direct link is http://www.uslacrosse.org/cep/fall07winter08clinics.phtml#refd and to register for the

on-line course the direct link is http://www.uslacrosse.org/cec/index.phtml To benefit from the full Level l experience, US Lacrosse strongly recommends advance completion of the Level l On-line Course for all clinic participants.
